At one level this text provides an investigative journalistic account of the life and engagement of a young British man of Pakistani heritage, Hassan Butt, who self-identifies as a Muslim, and widely believed to be an instrumental operator within the home-grown terrorist terrain that came to dominate the attention of the security sphere, following a coordinated series of attacks in London during 2005.
